The designers
Vincent Darré and Martin BrudnizkiDarré decorated the rooms. Brudnizki designed the restaurant and club.

The hotel stands in the 16th arrondissement, on the corner of avenue Victor-Hugo and rue de Presbourg, which curves around the southern side of place Charles-de-Gaulle. The Arc de Triomphe is in the middle of that square, and the Champs-Élysées begins on its far side. In a straight line, Kléber station (Métro line 6) is about 190 meters away. Charles de Gaulle–Étoile is about 200 meters away for RER A and 280 to 330 meters away for Métro lines 1, 2 and 6. Argentine station on line 1 is about 330 meters away.

The 15 rooms and suites fall into six categories. The hotel says Vincent Darré reworked the Haussmann-era style with deep colors, tricks of perspective and unexpected details. Standard and Deluxe rooms have a king-size bed and a shower room, and the three suites measure 40 to 65 m². L'Appartement, on the top floor, has two bedrooms and two bathrooms over 130 m². Every category except L'Appartement is listed for two guests.

Martin Brudnizki designed L'Aventure restaurant, with deep velvet and mythological mosaics, and the private club in the same building. The restaurant menu includes paccheri pasta with caviar, beef tartare maki rolls and silver cod.

History & cultural connections

The history of Hôtel L'Aventure

Avenue Victor-Hugo was earlier called avenue d'Eylau, and before that avenue de Saint-Cloud. Its western part was named after the writer Victor Hugo in 1881, while he was still alive. The first stretch, from place Charles-de-Gaulle to place Victor-Hugo, took his name in December 1885, the year he died. City street rules require no. 4, the hotel's building, and no. 3, across the avenue, to keep symmetrical façades. The hotel describes the building as Haussmannian. Its two Victor Hugo suites take their names from the avenue.[1][2][3]

The name L'Aventure is older than the hotel. Dani, a French singer and actress who appeared in François Truffaut's film Day for Night (1973), ran a nightclub called L'Aventure in the 1970s. The club stood on a corner of rue de Presbourg, as Télérama reports. Le Monde described it as a French version of New York's Studio 54. Télérama quoted Dani describing a private club with no photographers. Her DJ brought records back from the United States and played the Eagles' "Hotel California" there in 1976, before anyone else, according to Télérama. In a 2020 interview with the radio station Europe 1, Dani said she ran the club for four years and bought it on the advice of the actor Alain Delon.[4][5][6]

From March 2004 a restaurant, bar and private club called L'Aventure operated at 4 avenue Victor-Hugo, according to its own website. It had a terrace heated in winter, and guests danced all night in the club.[7]

Beaumarly, the group founded by Gilbert and Thierry Costes, announced the new L'Aventure in June 2023, with the architect Martin Brudnizki and the artistic director Vincent Darré. In July 2024 the L'Aventure website said only "coming soon". In September 2024 the group held recruitment days for 16 club staff, 27 kitchen staff and 27 dining-room staff. By January 2025 the website presented the restaurant and club as open.[8][9][10][11][12]

The hotel opened on March 3, 2026. Vincent Darré, who decorated its 15 rooms, began his career in fashion, at houses including Moschino, according to Beaumarly. Atout France, the national tourism agency, classified the hotel five stars on April 9, 2026.[2][3][13][14]
