About Le Dokhan’s
Striped awnings and a discreet rue Lauriston entrance lead to a small hotel of antiques, patterned fabrics and a candlelit champagne bar. Le Dokhan’s has 45 rooms and suites near Trocadéro, with an atmosphere closer to a decorated Parisian residence than a large international hotel.
Best for
- Couples drawn to traditional Parisian interiors
- Champagne enthusiasts
- Travelers who prefer a small hotel near Trocadéro
Know before you book
Room sizes are approximate. Ask about step-free access before reserving: the Eiffel Suite has a private staircase, and the Superior and Deluxe room descriptions do not offer mobility-accessible bathrooms. The room overview advertises complimentary Wi-Fi, while the Prestige Queen panel lists a fee; confirm the terms of that category directly.

Le Dokhan’s occupies a neoclassical building that the hotel dates to 1910. Frédéric Méchiche’s interiors draw on eighteenth-century decoration: upholstered walls, period furniture and marble bathrooms give the rooms a deliberately domestic character.
The champagne bar is a central part of the stay. Celadon-green surfaces, gilded paneling and candles set the scene for a glass accompanied by caviar or other small plates. It is a place for an aperitif or tasting rather than a conventional full restaurant.
Rooms range from a compact Superior Queen to suites on the upper floors. The Eiffel Suite has its own staircase and a specific Eiffel Tower view; neither that view nor the suite’s extra living space should be assumed in a standard room.

History & cultural connections
A Belle Époque building with an older decorative vocabulary
The building at 117 rue Lauriston dates to 1910, according to the hotel’s own account. Its neoclassical stone frontage belongs to the Belle Époque city, even though the atmosphere inside deliberately reaches further back. This distinction matters: the eighteenth-century character describes the decoration, not the construction date.[1]
Interior designer Frédéric Méchiche shaped the hotel around the idea of an intimate Parisian residence. The official account describes eighteenth-century inspiration, antiques, works of art, mahogany furniture and Carrara marble bathrooms. Across just 45 rooms and suites, those choices create a collection of individual rooms rather than a uniform sequence of modern hotel interiors.[1]
One of the hotel’s most unusual objects is its elevator. Marriott describes the cabin as made from a genuine vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunk, retaining monogrammed canvas, wooden uprights and studs. It is a small-scale design detail that makes the journey upstairs part of the hotel’s identity.[1]
The champagne bar continues the same taste for reused period decoration. The hotel describes seventeenth-century gilt wainscoting within a celadon-green, candlelit room. Its present-day champagne service and small plates give that historical decorative setting an everyday social use, making the bar as much a part of the hotel’s character as the rooms upstairs.[1]
