History & cultural connections

Belle Époque forms and Japanese restraint

Hana takes its name from the Japanese word for flower. The hotel’s identity was developed around French and Japanese ways of living, with its rue du Quatre-Septembre address between Opéra Garnier, the Bourse and the nearby Japanese quarter.[1]

The interiors bring together designer Laura Gonzalez and artistic director Olivier Leone. Their starting point was a dialogue between the decorative richness of the Belle Époque and Japanese minimalism. Those references shape a contemporary Paris hotel.[1]

Custom furniture, Art Nouveau-influenced textiles and restrained colors carry the concept through the rooms. It continues in daily use: Hanabi combines French and Japanese culinary influences, while the wellness area offers Japanese-inspired treatments and a counter-current pool.[1][2]
