A dedicated Terrace SuiteThe 35 m² Terrace Suite is the hotel’s only suite with a private terrace.

Hôtel Montaigne occupies a Haussmannian building at number 6 avenue Montaigne, opposite the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. Its 27 rooms and suites make it a relatively small address among the hotels of the Golden Triangle. The location suits visitors combining the avenue’s fashion houses with performances at the theater and time along the Seine.

Pierre-Yves Rochon designed the interiors around mahogany, ivory tones, mirrors and amber lighting. The room categories have practical differences: Classic rooms are approximately 22 m², Deluxe rooms approximately 24 m², and the Junior Suite has a sitting area within 35 m². The 43 m² Montaigne Suite separates the bedroom from the living room with sliding doors.

Le Petit Montaigne is the hotel’s bar-restaurant, open daily from breakfast through the evening. Guests can also order room service and arrange massages, facials or hair appointments in their room. A concierge helps organize cultural outings, restaurant reservations and other arrangements.

The Paris Atlas · Beyond the booking

History & cultural connections

A small hotel on avenue Montaigne

Hôtel Montaigne was established in the 1950s in a Haussmannian building at 6 avenue Montaigne. The hotel opened as the avenue was becoming a center of postwar Paris fashion.[1][2]

The Théâtre des Champs-Élysées opened across the avenue in 1913, decades before Hôtel Montaigne. Christian Dior’s arrival after the Second World War helped establish the avenue’s fashion trade. The hotel developed between these two worlds of theater and couture.[2]

Hôtel Montaigne’s interiors are the work of designer Pierre-Yves Rochon. Traditional furniture sits alongside contemporary materials and lighting throughout the 27-room hotel.[1][2]

The renovated rooms use mahogany, ivory-colored maple, mirrors and warm lighting. Photographs of actors and other entertainment figures decorate the walls, continuing the hotel’s theatrical theme.[3]
