Hilton Paris Opéra occupies the former Grand Hotel Terminus beside Gare Saint-Lazare. Its 1889 building has a formal stone entrance with three arched bays, a glass-and-iron canopy and richly decorated public rooms. The railway station and Métro are close at hand, while Printemps and Galeries Lafayette are nearby on boulevard Haussmann.
The rooms are more contemporary than the public spaces. Superior rooms have a double bed, desk, mini refrigerator and a walk-in rain shower. Deluxe rooms add space and a queen bed, and a separate Deluxe Twin category is available. Executive rooms and several suite categories provide further choices; families can book connecting rooms, subject to availability.
Le Grand Salon is the hotel’s central gathering place, with a bar menu served into the evening. Room service, a concierge, a fitness center and an executive lounge add the conveniences of a large hotel. Confirm whether lounge access is included in the room and rate you select.
This is a practical choice for travelers using Saint-Lazare and visitors who want the department stores within easy reach. The immediate surroundings are a busy transport and shopping district. Choose it for railway convenience and impressive public interiors rather than a secluded neighborhood setting.

History & cultural connections
The history of Hilton Paris Opéra
The hotel opened in 1889 as the Grand Hotel Terminus, during the Paris World’s Fair. Architect Juste Lisch designed it as a luxury railway hotel connected to Gare Saint-Lazare. Construction began in 1888, bringing a large new hotel to the station district at a time when rail travel was reshaping the way visitors reached Paris.[1]
Its original clientele included transatlantic passengers who reached Normandy by sea and continued to Paris by train. The direct relationship with Saint-Lazare was central to the hotel’s purpose. Historic Hotels Worldwide records 500 bedrooms at opening, together with electric lighting, telephones and service bells: modern conveniences within elaborate public interiors.[1]
The building later became part of Concorde Hotels and Resorts in 1972 and operated as Hotel Concorde Saint-Lazare Paris. It was renamed Hotel Concorde Opéra Paris in 2009. These changes of name placed different emphasis on the station and the nearby Opéra district, while the hotel continued at the same rue Saint-Lazare address.[1]
A major restoration followed the hotel’s acquisition in 2013. Work on the lobby and Grand Salon recovered decorative details that had been obscured, while the bedrooms were redesigned with contemporary comforts. The property reopened as Hilton Paris Opéra in 2015 and joined Historic Hotels Worldwide in 2018. The contrast between its restored public rooms and modern bedrooms remains part of the experience today.[1]
