Music
A hotel above a historic clubThe basement venue and record-filled restaurant continue the address’s musical identity.

Hôtel Bus Palladium brings bedrooms to one of Pigalle’s long-established nightlife addresses, at 6 rue Pierre Fontaine. Reopened in 2026 within Chapitre Six, it combines a five-star hotel with a restaurant, bar and basement club. The appeal is a stay connected to music and the neighborhood’s late-night life.

Studio KO designed the rooms around cork, exposed concrete, velvet and pink carpet, with fluted glass separating parts of the bathroom. Vintage and custom furniture, contemporary art and Ojas speakers give the interiors their character. The seven categories range from 22 m² Superior rooms to the 65 m² Dalí Suite; named balcony and terrace categories offer private outdoor space.

Chef Valentin Raffali leads the restaurant, where a wall of vinyl records carries the musical theme into dinner. Breakfast, bar service and around-the-clock room service broaden the options for hotel guests. The club has its own program of concerts, cabaret and DJ sets, so check the event and admission arrangements for the night you plan to attend.

History & cultural connections

From Pigalle dancing hall to hotel and music club

The hotel’s historical account dates the Bus Palladium’s opening to September 30, 1965. Founder James Arch took over the former L’Ange Rouge dancing hall at 6 rue Fontaine, aiming to bring artists, neighborhood regulars and young people from different parts of Paris onto the same dance floor.[1]

The venue’s early life was interrupted by a closure for noise in March 1966. Sam Bernett and Richard Ermann revived it in 1974, after which it passed through several operators while retaining its rock-music identity. Christopher Thompson’s 2010 film Bus Palladium took its title from the club. The address closed again in July 2022.[1]

The Bus Palladium hotel project grew from a 2019 meeting between Nicolas Saltiel and Christian Casmèze, whose family, according to the operator, had owned the building since 1924. Their plan added accommodation to the music venue. The completed property reopened in 2026 with 35 rooms and suites under Chapitre Six.[1]

For Bus Palladium’s 2026 reopening, Studio KO redesigned the building and interiors, while Caroline de Maigret shaped the playlists, scents and uniforms. Chef Valentin Raffali took charge of the restaurant and Lionel Bensemoun the club’s artistic direction. The new hotel rooms use cork walls, exposed concrete and vintage furnishings; the basement continues to serve as a performance space.[1][2][3]
