Le Grand Hôtel Cayré occupies a prominent corner between boulevard Raspail and rue du Bac. Miiro reopened the historic hotel in July 2024 after a complete renovation by Michaelis Boyd. The interiors use bespoke and vintage furniture to suggest a Paris apartment, with details inspired by the 1920s.

The 123 rooms and suites range from compact Classic rooms of 14–19 m² to two individual suites. Courtyard, city and Eiffel Tower views are distinct choices. Some city rooms have balconies, but a balcony is not universal within every category.

Annette is an all-day French brasserie with outdoor tables on boulevard Raspail. Its name remembers the writer Annette Kolb, who lived at the old Hôtel Cayré. Officine Bac serves cocktails and rare spirits in a more intimate setting, while The Gallery provides lounge space near the lobby.

The practical extras include a gym and a Refresh Room with showers, changing facilities, lockers and charging points for use around arrival and departure. Choose this hotel for the rue du Bac shops, nearby galleries and a substantial on-site restaurant. A Classic room is a compact base; the Deluxe Studio adds a lounge area and sofa bed for a longer stay or a third guest.

History & cultural connections

The history of Hôtel Cayré

The present hotel continues the name of the historic Hôtel Cayré at the corner of boulevard Raspail and rue du Bac. One of its documented residents was the French-German writer and pacifist Annette Kolb. According to the hotel’s account, she lived here for 17 years from 1944. The current brasserie, Annette, carries her name.[1]

Miiro reopened the property on July 15, 2024, as the first hotel in its new collection. A complete renovation by architecture and interiors studio Michaelis Boyd introduced 123 rooms and suites. The studio drew on the neighborhood and the 1920s, combining apartment-like rooms with bespoke furniture and vintage pieces.[2][1]

Parts of the building’s earlier life inform the new public spaces. Officine Bac occupies a former pharmaceutical dispensary; its present drinks menu includes cocktails, rare spirits and infusions. The original grand staircase also survives as a setting for a new commission: French artist Mathias Kiss painted a hazy sky that wraps around the route through the hotel.[2][3]

On the seventh floor, curator Gilbert Kann created an apartment-like collection of furniture, lighting and art from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The hotel names Maison Leleu, Pierre Frey and Disderot among the participating design houses. The pieces are available to buy, and the Collectionneur accommodation makes this collection part of a stay. The suite also contains two sculptures by the artist couple Les Simonnet.[3]
