Sunray Vase
Clarice Cliff designed the Sunray vase in 1929 for Newport Pottery, which made it in earthenware painted with enamel colours. A partial sun throws sharply cut rays across a broad body that narrows to a raised foot, in yellow, orange, red, dark blue and black. The Victoria and Albert Museum in London holds one as museum number C.74-1976.
