Gigi is a 1949 French film directed by Jacqueline Audry, the first screen adaptation of Colette's 1944 novella. Danièle Delorme plays Gigi, a girl raised by her family for the courtesan's life who instead wins marriage and a choice of her own. It preceded the 1951 Broadway play and the 1958 MGM musical.
