Hôtel La Lanterne & Spa is at 12 rue de la Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, close to the Panthéon and the streets around Maubert–Mutualité. The current hotel also uses the name La Lanterne & Spa By Timhotel. Inside are 39 rooms and three suites, with a garden and a private lounge bar.
The room categories offer different ways to use the limited space of a city hotel. A Classic starts at 15 m²; a Deluxe adds a sitting corner. Some rooms have garden terraces, while top-floor Privilege rooms have private terraces overlooking the rooftops. The suites have separate living areas.
The heated indoor pool, hammam and fitness room are available to guests, with treatments by appointment at an extra charge. This is a useful option if you want a pool after a day in the Latin Quarter, without staying in a much larger hotel.

History & cultural connections
A 2015 opening and a later expansion
La Lanterne opened in December 2015. An October 2020 report in Industrie Hôtelière, preserved in the hotel’s press archive, describes its subsequent expansion after the acquisition of a neighbouring hotel business. Eighteen months of work added 15 rooms, bringing the hotel to 42 rooms at that time.[1]
The interiors were designed by Les Héritiers. Rather than treating the rooms as anonymous sleeping spaces, the designers brought Parisian street details indoors: lanterns, architectural motifs and collected objects. Oeil-de-boeuf mirrors in the lobby echoed the rounded windows found on Paris buildings and helped open up the view through the room.[1]
The hotel’s 2021 press material also describes antique engravings and reproductions of Maurice Chevalier posters within the decoration. These are design references, not evidence that the singer stayed here. Today the hotel lists 39 rooms and three suites; the older press reports explain how the property developed, while the current room pages describe what can be booked.[2][3]
