The 2024 renovation of La Villa
La Villa Saint-Germain des Prés underwent a complete renovation in 2024. The project record lists completion in June, with Chevalier Guillemot Architectes responsible for the architecture and Bruno Borrione for the interiors. The works covered 1,100 square metres of the hotel.[4]
The changes altered how the building was used. Photographer Jérémy Maille’s project account explains that older bedrooms were combined to give the new rooms more space and light, and a spa was created in the basement. His photographs record a sample room before the works were completed, providing a glimpse of the hotel during its transformation.[5]
The hotel now has 22 rooms and suites designed by Borrione. Art, individually chosen pieces and bespoke furniture run through the rooms and shared spaces. The bar continues that approach, while the wellness area contains a counter-current pool, sauna and gym. These are parts of the hotel’s recent reinvention on rue Jacob.
