History & cultural connections
The Vuitton Building and a 2026 redesign
The building at 70 avenue des Champs-Élysées dates to 1914. It once housed Maison Vuitton’s flagship and still carries the inscription “Vuitton Building” on its facade. Curving stone bays, wrought-iron balconies and gold-colored decoration remain visible above the present hotel entrance.[1]
In March 2026, Marriott introduced Jenny, a restaurant and bar beneath the hotel’s glass dome. It is named after fashion designer Jenny Sacerdote, whose ateliers once occupied 70 avenue des Champs-Élysées. Marriott’s account does not date her time at the address.[2][1]
On March 2, 2026, Marriott announced that a full renovation of the hotel was complete. London design studio Muza Lab redesigned the rooms and public spaces with references to clothing and dressmaking. These include crochet-inspired artwork, lamps shaped like corsets and geometric carpets that recall tailored fabrics.[2]
The renovation completed in 2026 changed the Paris Marriott Champs-Élysées lobby and dining spaces around its glass-domed atrium. New furniture, lighting and plants accompanied the introduction of Jenny restaurant. The Mediterranean courtyard venue Cira and the hotel’s event spaces provide other places to dine or gather.[2]
