How Hôtel Lotti became part of Hôtel Costes
Hôtel Costes opened on rue Saint-Honoré in 1995. Jacques Garcia designed its original interiors.[1]
Hôtel Costes later expanded into the former Hôtel Lotti on rue de Castiglione. Christian Liaigre designed this newer part of the hotel, now called the Castiglione collection. You can book rooms in either the original Saint-Honoré section or the Castiglione section. If you want to stay in the former Hôtel Lotti, ask the hotel to confirm where your room will be.[1][2]
In Down and Out in Paris and London, George Orwell describes working as a dishwasher in a Paris hotel he calls “Hotel X.” Hôtel Lotti is thought to have been that hotel, but Orwell never confirmed its name.[3]
