About L’Hôtel

L’Hôtel is a five-star boutique hotel on rue des Beaux-Arts, between the Seine and boulevard Saint-Germain. Its 20 rooms are individually decorated by Jacques Garcia, and the small scale is part of the appeal: this feels like a private address rather than a conventional city hotel. The spiral staircase, theatrical fabrics, original art, and different room layouts give each category its own character.

This is also the building where Oscar Wilde spent his final months. That history belongs to the hotel itself, not simply to the surrounding neighborhood, while nearby rue de Seine, the École des Beaux-Arts, Café de Flore, and Sylvia Beach’s original Shakespeare and Company make it easy to build a broader Saint-Germain day around the stay.

The rooms range from the 17-square-meter Mignon category to the 45-square-meter apartment. Below street level, guests can reserve private use of the hammam pool and steam room, with treatments available separately. The tradeoff is physical scale: the elevator is very small, and parts of this historic building may be difficult for travelers with reduced mobility.
